Contracts, Clauses, and Invoice Design Seminar
Dave Bischof has created plumbing contracts that are the most widely used contracts and they have become the national standard in the United States, although the models consistently evolve with new material. In this extremely thorough and detailed seminar, we discuss everything including contract layouts, myriads of protective clauses, acceptance flow styles, and contract legal issues. One of the newly added discussion revolves around a tactic Dave Bischof has devised that makes so called investigative reporters not dare plaster your contract up on broadcast TV unless they want to show what a benevolent plumbing firm you have is. This tactic also significantly softens up governmental regulatory types who seem to love nothing better to do than harass plumbers for being expensive. We show seminar attendees how to solve that. Also discussed is marketing issues that are employed in contracts, not just contractor protective legal clauses. Thoroughly reviewed are contract clauses to protect plumbing firms, such as the widely used clause Dave Bischof has created related to drain cleaning and inspection equipment becoming lodged, and how clients agree to pay for a such unforeseen circumstances. The most popular clause deals with being compensated for all detriment proximately caused when a client breaches and portion of a plumbing contract. Discussed are such legal precedents as Story v. Gateway Chevrolet and shown to attendees is how they are lawfully entitled to lost income pursuing a breach of contract action if they know how to frame their demands within the law. Dave Bischof then shows attendees how to receive additional funds for punitive and exemplary damages under Seamen's Direct Buying Service v. Standard Oil. We go into mechanics liens very briefly, and attendees are show how to with just a telephone call, they can have an absolute defense against subsequent malicious abuse of civil process and wrongful disparagement of title claims for recording of a mechanic's lien. Attendees are shown and given a copy of the famous "Deadbeat Debtor Demand Letter" that Dave Bischof has created that Jim Olzstynski, chief editor of Plumbing and Mechanical Magazine reported about as the best and most hard hitting collection letter for plumber firms he has ever seen. Other well received instructions are some language clauses Dave Bischof has created that show contractors how to prevent price complaints and to discourage homeowners from frivolously filing complaints with regulatory agencies against plumbing firms. Just some of the issues discussed in this seminar are:
Attendees are invited to bring their contracts for discussion and review and on the spot Dave Bischof can create clauses for legal issues raised by attendees. To close out this seminar, attendees are shown how to get full color process contracts printed up for free. The Contracts, Clauses and Invoice Design Seminar is about 1.5-2 hours long
